Bus production in Iran continues to drop

In the past few months, the production of buses in Iran has drastically reduced, ISNA news agency reported Feb. 4.

Recent statistics show that in the Iranian month of Day (Dec. 22 , 2014- Jan. 20) Iranian bus manufacturing units underwent a 100-percent reduction.

During this period the buses produced by Runiran company experienced reduction in number from 12 in the same period last year to zero in the present.

Zamiad, also a major bus manufacturing company, saw their production of 6 buses in the same period last year grow to zero in this month.

Oghaban company's output also plunged down from 13 buses to zero as well.

AKIA DUICH company also produced zero buses in the mentioned period, compared to six in the same period of last year.

A report on Feb. 3 said that in the first ten months of the current Iranian year (starting March. 21, 2014) Iran produced 21 minibuses and middle buses.

The Islamic Republic's automobile output faced a 40 percent decrease in 2012 due to international sanctions. The country was Asia's fifth largest car manufacturer in 2011, with a total output of 1,648,505.
