UAE remains main goods exporter to Iran in 2014

Iran purchased 69.43 percent of its total imported goods in 2014 from five countries - The United Arab Emirates, China, South Korea, India and Turkey, the Islamic Republic's Customs Administration said Feb. 4 in its detailed monthly report.

Iran has imported 9.243 million metric tons of goods, worth $13.515 billion from the United Arab Emirates in 2014.

The UAE exports to Iran witnessed an increase of 33.73 percent in terms of value. Meanwhile the volume of the Islamic Republic's imports from the UAE registered a 48.71 percent rise year on year.
Iran's imports from the UAE accounted for 24.34 percent of its total imports in terms of value in 2014.

The UAE exported $9.572 billion worth of goods to Iran in 2013 which made the country main exporter of goods to the Islamic Republic.

Tehran also imported 5.529 million metric tons of goods worth $12.567 billion from China, which makes up 22.64 percent of Iran's total imports' value.
Iran's imports from China witnessed 45.98 and 40.12 percent rise respectively in terms of value and volume in comparison with 2013.

South Korea, India and Turkey respectively exported $4.288 billion, $4.234 billion, and $3.943 billion worth of goods to Tehran in 2014.

India and Turkey's exports value to Iran have increased by 12.62 percent and 15.8 percent respectively during the period, meanwhile the exports of South Korea to the country indicates a rise of 9.9 percent compared with the same period of preceding year.
While the volume of exports from South Korea to Iran has fallen by 7.73 percent, India's exports to the Islamic Republic increased by 24.53 percent in terms of volume. The volume of Turkey's exports to Iran has increased by 35.67 percent year on year.

Iran imported $55.52 billion worth of goods in 2014, which indicates a rise by 19.47 percent, compared to the same period of the preceding year.

The Islamic Republic's overall non-oil trade turnover stood at $90.297 billion in 2014. The figure indicates a 16.42 percent rise in comparison with the $77.557 billion trade turn over during 2013.
