Asian markets share 92% of Iran’s total non-oil exports

Over $15.519 billion of Iran's total $29.357 billion worth of non-oil exports (excluding condensates) accounted to Asian countries during the first ten months of the current Iranian fiscal year (March 21, 2014-Jan 21), indicating an increase by 14.1 percent year on year.

The figure accounts for 92.4 percent of the country's total non-oil exports, said Iranian Customs Administration's detailed monthly report released on Feb. 4.

Iran exported some 61.236 million metric tons of non-oil goods to Asian countries during that period which is 3.1 percent less compared the 10-month period of last year.

Meanwhile Iran's exports to Europe registered a 34.39 percent increase in terms of value and stood at $1.453 billion during the period. European markets shared 4.95 percent of Tehran's total non-oil exports' value during the first ten months of the current fiscal year.

Iran's exports to Africa and America stood at $639 million and $116 million respectively, 10.28 percent and 23.39 percent less compared to the same period of preceding year (March 21, 2013 - Jan. 21, 2014).

The Islamic Republic exported $22 million worth of goods to Oceania in the 10-month period, 55.87 percent more year on year.

China was the main market of Iranian goods in Asia with $7.672 billion worth of imported goods, meanwhile Italian markets were the main European target of Iran's non-oil exports ($393 million).

Egypt was top African importer of Iranian goods in the 10-month period with $449 million worth of imports in the period.

Brazil ($43 million) and Australia ($20 million) were also the top markets of Iran's exported goods in America and Oceania respectively.

Iran's non-oil trade turnover (including condensates) surpassed $86.261 billion during the first ten months of current Iranian fiscal year.

The Islamic Republic's non-oil exports (including condensates) accounted for $42.584 billion of the mentioned amount, while imports accounted for $43.677 billion.
