Iran’s bunkering surpasses 3 million tons in 10 months

By Fatih Karimov - Trend: Iran bunkered over 3 million metric tons of fuel to ships sailing through the Gulf in the first ten months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21, 2014 - Jan. 20, 2015).
Mohammad Reza Mazloumi, an official with the National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company, said three million metric tons of fuel oil and 107,000 metric tons of gas oil was supplied to ships in the 10-month period, Iran's Shana news agency reported on Feb. 9.
Bunkering of fuel oil and gas oil rose 30 percent year on year, he said, adding that $1.35 billion of fuel oil and $963 million of gas oil were supplied to ships in the 10-month period.
The Managing Director of the National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company (NIOPDC) Mostafa Kashkouli said in April 2014 that the country plans to supply 4 million metric tons of fuels to ships sailing through its neighboring seas in the current Iranian solar year, which began on March 21, 2014.
Iran exported totally 6.1 million liters of fuel oil as well as 641 million liters of gas oil during a year to March 2013.
Kashkouli said on November 22 that Iran is not using its full capacity for oil swap and bunkering.
He also said that oil swap and bunkering could be very profitable for Iran.
