Baku, Azerbaijan, Apr. 21

By Fatih Karimov - Trend: Iran started a plan to set quotas for providing fuel to public transport vehicles, said Shahram Adamnejad, the deputy director of the Iranian road maintenance and transport organization.

Based on the plan, diesel fuel will be delivered to public transport vehicles according to their mileage, Iran's IRNA news agency quoted Adamnejad as saying April 21.

He said that the plan is aimed to distribute fuel to public transport vehicles equitably and curb the smuggling of fuel.

The next phase of the plan will be implemented in the second half of the current Iranian fiscal year, which begins on Sept. 22, he said, adding that smart positioning systems will be installed on vehicles and their fuel quotas will be charged to their smart fuel cards automatically.
