Iran has underway a project to launch a maritime tourism complex in the Caspian port city of Bandar Torkaman, Golestan Province.
Called in Persian "Aseman-e Darya-ye Khazar" - meaning the Caspian sky, the project is funded with $400 million by Iranian and Turkish sides, Iran's MANA news agency reported June 20.
The area of construction covers 197 hectares and the project will be complete in three years, said Majid Rahmani Khalili, head of the investment and resource procurement workgroup of Golestan Province's Cultural Heritage, Handicraft, and Tourism Organization stated.
He said Aseman-e Darya-ye Khazar will include over 500 villas, food and reception centers, recreational complexes, piers, tourist watercraft, etc.
It will also include a small-aircraft aviation education center for the visiting tourists.
