The shipping company Khadri Jahan Darya is being subsidized in order to launch a regular shipping line to Oman for one year starting February 4.

Speaking about the arrangement, CEO of Trade Service at Iran's Trade Development Organization Farhad Nouri said the line will connect Iran's Rajaei Port to Sohar Port in Oman, IRNA news agency reported February 5.

He further explained that in the first six months of the Iranian fiscal year (starting March 20), two voyages a month will be conducted, while during the second half of the year, three voyages will be conducted per month.

The official said the line is subsidized from a 500-billion-rial credit (each USD is about 30,000 rials) assigned for improving non-oil exports and related transportation.

The annual trade turnover between Iran and Oman in recent years has stood at most at $400 million.
