Tehran, Iran, April 6

By Mehdi Sepahvand - Trend:

Iran is going to hold a tender on 20 mcm of associated petroleum gas (APG), according to Ali Kardar, director of investment and funding at the National Iranian Oil Company.

He said the decision follows prospects of improving oil output that Iran is following, which end in higher production of APG, SHANA news agency reported April 6.

Two years ago Iran held a similar tender which was a partial failure as the offered gas did not find many customers.

Kardar went on to say that talks with Iranian partners for the sale of eight mcm flare gas at four oil fields are close to being finalized.

The biggest achievement of these contracts will be to prevent 5.7 mcm of gas at Forouzan Oil Field from burning, he underlined.

The company signed the first sale of flare gas contract with two Iranian partners in mid-March which aims to produce 100 megawatts of electricity as well as 1,300 thousand LPG and gas condensates per day.
