Tehran, Iran, April 12
By Mehdi Sepahvand - Trend:

An Iranian official says that the Republic of Azerbaijan can use the Iranian territory to export goods to Iraq.

Iran provides a very suitable path for the export of goods from Azerbaijan to Iraq and Iran is willing to help arrange things, Mehdi Nejatnia, director of Iraqi trade affairs at the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran told Trend April 12.

The first reason that doing so will be a successful undertaking is that Azerbaijan is a Muslim country and Iraqis are interested in goods that are produced in an Islamic country, he noted.
Secondly, the Iranian route gives a very short and convenient way to connect the start and end points for this business, he said.

The Iranian official pointed out that at one point of time, Iraqi's had been interested in importing flour from Iraq, which was not met due to certain problems.

He hoped that the three countries would engage in activities to fulfill the objective.
The Islamic Republic in mid-June hosted a two-day conference titled Applied Conference on Trade with Iraq, Azerbaijan, and Turkmenistan.

By holding the conference, Iran tried to find ways to boost and streamline trade with the guest countries.
