Iranian automaker produces cars in Syria

Iran Khodro Industrial Group (IKCO), an Iranian leading automaker, has announced its plan to return to Syria and resume production of vehicles in the crisis-worn country.

Iran Khodro (IKCO)'s Deputy CEO for Export, Saeed Tafazzoli, has said that the leading Iranian automaker will produce its brands of Dena, Soren and Rana at SIAMCO, an assembly site in Syria, IRNA news agency reported.

Saeed Tafazzoli said that the company plans to deliver a shipment of parts for producing 90 vehicles in Syria over the current week.

He also said that the company has recently assembled about 100 Samand cars in its assembly site in Syria.

According to the deputy CEO, giant automaker plans to produce over 1000 cars in SIAMCO site over the current year.

IKCO is Iran's major automaker, producing about 600,000 cars a year.
