Iran’s bunkering up to 4.4 million tons

Iran’s annual bunkering capacity has increased to 4.4 million tons from 3.3 million tons, after the removal of sanctions from the Islamic Republic in January 2016, according to Mohammad Saidnejad, CEO of Ports and Shipping Organization.
 
Elsewhere, he said Iran has signed contracts for building a 1.5 million cubic meters LPG storage, he said, Mehr news agency reported August 23.
 
LPG storage facilities in Iran add up to 1.9 million tons in capacity. Elsewhere in the country there exists 520 thousand tons of LPG storage. There are also facilities under construction with a total capacity of 790 thousand tons.
 
Iran had above 31.3 million liters of extra fuel oil (mazut) for export or bunkering per day last year (Iranian fiscal year which ended March 19).
 
Iran's diesel bunkering registered a huge rise of 3275 percent in the eleven months to February 20 compared to the same period, preceding year.
 
Iran also bunkered 4.407 million tons of fuel oil, 25 percent more compared to the preceding year.
 
Iran is rich in gas reserves and is trying to replace the fuel with liquid fuels as much as possible.
