Iran's exports to the United States reached $36.9 million in first half of 2016, the U.S. Department of Commerce's statistics indicate.

This value is three times more than the country's total exports to the US in 12 months of 2015.

During last year, the US imported about $10.8 million worth of commodities from Iran.

Iran and the P5+1 Group including US, UK, France, Russia, China plus Germany implemented a comprehensive nuclear agreement in mid-January 2016, which led to elimination of western sanctions on Iran.

However, some of Washington's own sanctions on Tehran remained unchanged. For instance, Iran still has obstacles in foreign trade and payments through USD.
