The volume of Iran’s daily diesel exports has reached 15 million liters, an official with the country’s Oil Ministry said.

Mansour Riahi, the head of National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company, has said that the volume of Iran’s exports of diesel surged following the measures taken by the government aimed at decreasing diesel consumption at power plants in the country, IRNA news agency reported.

According to the official, the UAE’s Fujairah, as well as Singapore are among the major importers of Iran’s diesel.

The country’s current capacity for producing diesel stands at 95 million liters per day which is expected to increase by five million liters by the end of the current Iranian calendar year (ending 21 March 2017).

Iran’s oil officials forecast that the country’s diesel exports will reach 20 million liters per day in the future after providing the required infrastructure.
