Iran increases electricity output by 1.15%

Iran’s electricity generation stood at 185,492 gigawatt hours (GWh) since the beginning of current fiscal year (March 21), about 1.15 percent more than the same period in last year, Energy Ministry reported on its official website Oct.19.

According to the report, some 172,775 GWh of electricity was generated in thermal power plants, while about 10,086 GWh was generated by hydro-power plants.

During the mentioned period, the thermal power output increased by 0.71 percent and hydro power generation experienced a 7.02 percent growth.
