Tehran, Iran, November 21

German companies are studying Iran with the hope to start some large-scale investment in the country’s industrial sector, Tehran Chamber of Commerce deputy chief Pedram Soltani told Tasnim news agency November 21.
A country like Germany can play a great role as an industrial hub in renovating Iran’s industrial units, he observed.
“The same fact is accountable for a great portion of Iranian entities’ industrial purchases to be carried out with Germans, testified by a 25-percent increase in Iran’s imports from Germany,” he said.
“But buying industrial goods is only a preliminary step. German companies are heading for big time investment in Iran in the coming years.”
“In the years to come we will be facing some serious underemployment issues. Here foreign investment can help us, since domestic investment is not enough to create enough jobs.”
Soltani explained that German companies are especially investigating the Iranian market for chemicals, petrochemicals, house appliances, oil equipment, powerhouse equipment, and automotive industries.
