Despite intensive meetings and bilateral visits, Russia not only hasn’t agreed to invest in Iran, but expects Iran to provide investments into Russia, the Head of Iran-Russia Joint Chamber of Commerce Asadollah Asgaroladi said Jan.5.
According to Shargh Daily, he said that Russians don’t have any capital in Iran as of now.
According to the official website of Iran's Government, Russia hasn't put any investment in Iran during the current fiscal year, started on March 21.
Despite investment issues, Iran and Russian oil companies have signed seven memorandum of understandings to study the country’s oil fields.

On the other hand, Iran recently released the name of 29 foreign companies, qualified to participate in tenders over 49 oil and gas fields, based on newly designed contracts, called Iran Petroleum Contract.
According to the announcement of National Iranian Oil Company, the published list of 29 foreign companies is relevant to applicants, which have been qualified in pre-qualified Iran's oil and gas upstream projects tender round. Only Gazprom and Lukoil are among the qualified companies.
