Iran to use South Korean expertise in road, urban sectors

Iran will use South Korea’s expertise and experience in housing and road sectors, Mohammad Shekarchizadeh, Iran’s deputy minister of roads and urban development, said.

‎Iran’s Road, Housing and Urban Development Research Center (BHRC), affiliated to the Roads and Urban Development Ministry, has recently signed a memorandum of understanding with the Korea Institute of Civil Engineering and Building Technology (KICT) in this regard, Shekarchizadeh said, the news portal of the ministry reported.

The MoU pursues various ‎objectives, including exchange of know-how and research in the field of infrastructure as well as energy saving in buildings.

The MoU, which covers six provisions, also envisages cooperation and research in the fields of infrastructure, building construction technologies, rapid mass housing technologies, roads, transportation issues, ‎training and education in the related fields and sectors.

Shekarchizadeh, who heads the BHRC, said that grounds are prepared for cooperation of the two research institutes in housing and transport sectors.
