Tehran, Iran, February 22

By Mehdi Sepahvand - Trend:

Iran’s fruits market doesn't have enough of oranges, due to both severe cold that ruined this year’s crop in the country and the coming of the Iranian New Year (March 21).

Now the price of each kilogram of orange cultivated in southern Iran reaches as high as 100,000 rials (near $3), which is three times it used to be before a cold wave hit the northern parts of the country.

Chairman of Fruits Association of Iran Hossein Mojaheran said that people should have bought other fruits, such as apples, bananas, and the country would not have faced the shortage of oranges, Mehr news agency February 22.
