Bavaria implements 50 projects in Tehran

Bavaria is currently implementing 50 projects in the Iranian capital city of Tehran, a German official has said.

Markus Wittmann, the head of department of internationalization and industry at the Bavarian state ministry for economic affairs, has said that his state is implementing production and logistics projects in the spheres of automotive industry, technology and energy in Tehran, IRNA news agency reported.

He also expressed Bavaria’s interest in expansion of cooperation with Iran and said there is a wide range of small and medium size businesses in Bavaria which would like to work with Iranians.

The official further assured that his country is not solely after exporting its products to Iran and they are interested in importing goods from Iran as well.

Germany was among the main exporters of good to the Islamic Republic over the last Iranian calendar year (starting March 20) as the European nation exported more than $2.17 billion of goods to Iran.

Reuters earlier reported that trade between Germany and Iran was worth 2.9 billion euros in 2016, up from 2.4 billion euros in 2015.
