Iran’s oil products export hit 450,000, a record number so far, the country’s Deputy Oil Minister Abbas Kazemi told a press conference, Trend correspondent reported from the event May 7.

The major products included mazut, gas oil, kerosene, and LPG, the official said.

He added once current gasoline production projects go on stream, the country’s gasoline output will increase by 16 mlpd.

Regarding the share of home-made equipment in the country’s oil industry, Kazemi said currently 60 percent of them are Iranian-made. "Also 70 to 80 percent of refinery catalysts are domestically produced."

He also noted that the boost in oil products output has caused "a heavy traffic of ships to carry them oversees" for the first time in the history of Iran, pointing out that prior to this the traffic used to be formed by ships that imported products to Iran.
