Turkey’s exports to Iran fall, imports soar

Turkey’s exports to Iran over the first four months of the current year have dropped by 26.5 percent and its imports from the Islamic Republic have surged by 67.2 percent.

According to Turkish Statistical Institute, the country exported $1 million worth of goods to Iran in a period of four months between January and February which has fallen by 26.5 percent, compared to the previous year.

In the meantime the country imported $2.5 billion worth of goods from the Islamic Republic indicating 67.2 percent jump.

Trade turnover between the two neighboring countries in April stood at $921,193 of which $361,353 accounted for Iran’s exports to its northwestern neighbor.
