Iran’s Customs Administration has discovered $125,000 worth of smuggled US dollar bills, the administration said in a message on June 14.
Authorities said the money was going to be taken out of the country by a passenger heading abroad.
The report added that the person had hidden the US dollar bills inside tea bags and was trying to leave Iran via the Bazargan border checkpoint.
Another report said that 700 grams of smuggled gold was also discovered at the same border checkpoint.
