Turkey had increased oil import from Iran 2.6 times to 276,840 barrels per day in May year-on-year. Nevertheless, oil imports in May decreased by about 4 percent compared to April.
According to the report, released by Turkey’s Energy Market Regulatory Body, country’s oil import from Iran in January-May increased 2.2 times to 4.8218 million tons or 229,625 b/d.
Turkey decreased Iranian oil intake in view of sanctions in 2013-2015, but in 2016 resumed and in four months of 2017 increased the volumes to the above pre-sanctions level.
