Iran’s non-oil exports to Turkey fall by 65%

Iran’s total non-oil exports (including the gas condensate) in the first four months of current Iranian fiscal year (started March 20, 2017) stood at $13.459 billion, which indicates a fall of 9.5 percent, year-on-year.

Five countries, including China, Iraq, UAE, South Korea and India, in the 4-month period, have imported 68.8 percent of Iran's total non-oil goods, in terms of value, according to the latest statistics released by Trade Promotion Organization of Iran (TPOI).

China was the main importer of goods from Iran, in the mentioned period. The country's imports accounted for 21.1 percent of Iran's total exports, in terms of value. During the period, Iran had exported $2.841 billion worth of goods to China, 3 percent less, compared to the same period of the preceding year.

Iran had also exported $2.052 billion worth of goods to the Iraq, which marks 15.2 percent of Iran's total exports’ value.

The UAE ($2.037 billion), South Korea (with $1.4 billion), India ($926 million), Afghanistan ($827 million), Turkey ($483 million), Pakistan ($230 million) and Thailand ($209 million) were the other top importers of Iranian goods.

The exports to Turkey, which was fourth target of Iran’s non-oil exports in last fiscal year, had registered a huge fall by 65.5 percent.

The country’s exports to the UAE had also registered a fall of 15.6 percent. Meanwhile, exports to South Korea and Afghanistan had increased by 16 percent and 8.4 percent, respectively.
