Iran’s industrial products exports down by 18%

During the first four months of current fiscal year (ended March 20, 2017), Iran’s exports of industrial products had registered a fall of 17.5 percent in terms of value, said the latest statistics released by Trade Promotion Organization of Iran.

The value of Iran's industrial exports accounted for $4.93 billion, during the period. Iran had exported 12.02 million tons of industrial products, indicating a fall of 24 percent, compared to the preceding year.

During the 4-month period, Iran’ petrochemical exports had decreased by 3.7 percent to $4.689 billion. The volume of the petrochemical exports also registered a fall of 3.7 percent to 9.55 million tons, in the first four months of current fiscal year.

Iran had exported 5.903 million tons of gas condensate, worth $2.315 billion, which, compared to same period of last year, indicates a 2.7-percent and a 4.2-percent decrease in volume and value, respectively.

The Islamic Republic had also exported $814 million worth of agricultural products (23.3 percent less year-on-year) and $98 million worth of handicrafts and hand-made carpets (6.6 percent increase), in the 4-month period.

During the period, Iran had exported over 9.04 million tons of mineral products, valued at $613 million. The country’s minerals exports increased of 37.6 percent in terms of value, but registered a fall of 3.8 percent in terms of volume, year-on-year.

In the 4-month period, Iran's total non-oil exports (including gas condensate) stood at $13.459 billion, which indicates a 9.5-percent fall.
