Iran’s gasoline consumption continues to rise

Gasoline consumption over the current Iranian calendar year (starting March 20) has increased by eight percent, deputy director of National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company (NIORDC) said.

Shahrokh Khosravani has said that the average gasoline consumption over the current year stood at 81 million liters per day, indicating an increase of eight percent year on year, ISNA news agency reported.

Speaking about the upward trend of gasoline consumption in the country, he further added that the figure for the past two weeks reached 86 million liters per day.

The Islamic Republic’s gasoline consumption increased by 8.5 percent to 79 million liters during the four months of the current fiscal year.

Iran plans to increase the country’s gasoline output by 24 million liters per day (ml/d) to above 80 ml/d in future.

The country, over the current fiscal year, has been importing about 10 million liters of gasoline on a daily basis.
