Iran exported 11.742 million tons of mineral products, valued at $821 million during the first five months of the current fiscal year (March 20-Aug. 22).
The country’s minerals exports increased by 46 percent in terms of value, but registered a fall of 0.3 percent in terms of volume, year-on-year, according to the latest statistics released by Trade Promotion Organization of Iran.
During the first five months of current fiscal, Iran’s exports of industrial products had registered a fall of 11 percent in terms of value and accounted for $6.336 billion. Iran had exported 15.473 million tons of industrial products, indicating a fall of 17 percent, compared to the same months of preceding year.
During the 5-month period, Iran’ petrochemical exports increased by 2 percent to $5.999 billion.
Meanwhile the volume of the petrochemical exports registered a fall of 2.7 percent to 11.977 million tons, in the first five months of current fiscal year.
Iran exported 7.445 million tons of gas condensate, worth $2.92 billion, which, compared to same period of last year, indicates a 8-percent and a 5-percent decrease in volume and value, respectively.
The Islamic Republic also exported $986 million worth of agricultural products (24 percent less year-on-year) and $4 million worth of handicrafts (32 percent fall), in the 5-month period.
Export of the country’s hand-made carpets accounted to $127 million in the 5-month period, 19 percent more year-on-year.
In the 5-month period, Iran's total non-oil exports (including gas condensate) stood at $17.193 billion, which indicates a 5-percent fall.
