The following is a numbered list of news on latest economic developments in the Islamic Republic of Iran, as of 12:00 GMT, Oct. 2, on IRINN TV.

1. 12:05 GMT – First Vice-President Es’haq Jahangiri chaired an administrative meeting on non-oil exports. During the meeting, Jahangiri encouraged Iranian entrepreneurs to export their products to Syria. He also spoke about the government’s policies to support exporters.

2. 12:07 GMT – The value of Iran’s mining sector exports over the first five months of the current fiscal year (started March 20) reached $3.6 billion. (Report includes details on the export of mining products. Video shows archive footage of mining industrial units.)

3. 12:08 GMT – Report on an Iranian factory producing more than 20 types of industrial measurement and control systems for refineries and industrial units. The factory is expected to produce about 6,000 instruments over the current year. (Video shows the factory and an interview with its personnel).

4. 12:10 GMT – Report on the prices of gold in the Iranian market. Gold coin was traded at 12,416,000 rials (about $317.2 according to the currency rate in free market) on Monday. One gram of the 18-karat gold was priced at 1,205,000 rials (about $30.7).

5. 12:10 GMT – Report on the rate of foreign currencies in the Iranian market. Euro valued 46,425 rials in the free market gaining 68 rials compared to Thursday. The US dollar added seven rials to stand at 39,135 rials.

6. 12:11 GMT – Report on the performance of Tehran Stock Exchange. The main index of the TSE lost 304 points to stand at 85515 points.

7. 12:11 GMT – At a meeting between Iranian and Turkish officials in Tehran the sides discussed expansion of trade ties.

8. 12:12 GMT – A factory for processing potato has been launched in northwestern province of Ardabil. The factory has a capacity for processing about 60,000 tons of potato per year. (Video shows the factory).
