Iranian insurance industry witnessed a hike of 20 percent over the first half of the current fiscal year (started March 20) compared to the same period of time last year, a senior official said.
Abdolnaser Hemmati, the head of the Central Insurance of Iran, has said that the total income of the insurance companies over the mentioned period reached $5 billion (166 trillion rials), the public relations office of Iran Insurance Company said.
The regulator of the industry added that Iranians in total paid $666.6 million (22 trillion rials) for life insurance policies, indicating a 35 percent increase year-on-year.
In the meantime, the amount of collected premiums for car insurance and fire insurance policies has increased by 23 percent and 20 percent, respectively.
