Weekly performance of Iranian gold & currency markets

The price of one gram of the 18-karat gold decreased by 1.06 percent over the last Iranian week to stand at 1,230,970 rials (about $30.6) on the weekend.

In the meantime, the price of Bahar-e Azadi (Spring of Liberty) gold coin has increased by 0.16 percent.

The data available on the website of the Tehran Gold and Jewelry Union shows that the gold coin was traded at 12,670,000 rials ($316.307 according to the currency rate in free market on the same day) in the beginning of the Iranian week on Saturday. However, Bahar-e Azadi was valued at 12,690,000 ($316.379) in the end of the Iranian week on Thursday.

Meanwhile, the value of the US dollar against Iranian rial in the free market increased by 0.13 percent to post 40,110 rials on Thursday. The Central Bank of Iran (CBI) put the official rate of the US dollar at 34,299 rials on Thursday, an increase of 0.35 percent compared to Saturday.

According to the country’s real-time data sharing system, SANA, euro lost 0.38 percent to rest at 47,478 rials on the weekend. The official rate of euro increased by 0.19 percent to stand at 40,480 rials.
