Head of the Social Security Organization (SSO) Seyyed Taqi Nourbakhsh has said that his organization covers about 3,000 countrymen residing abroad.
Seyyed Taqi Nourbakhsh said that the organization also provides about 34,000 foreigners residing in Iran with insurance services, Mehr news agency reported.
He further added that there are still many foreign citizens with working permit in Iran, who have not received insurance services so far.
Saying that a group of Iranians living in China, Azerbaijan, Canada and Malaysia have been covered, he added that the SSO is still taking measures to expand its coverage of Iranian expatriates.
He further touched upon the organization’s budgeting, saying that the organization’s current annual spending is about $1.8 million (60 billion rials).
