Iran’s Power Control Co. is hopeful to receive a line of credit in the very near future to complete the construction of a combined cycle power plant in northwestern parts of the country.

“The Central Bank is doing the final correspondences in order to finalize the LC and I believe only the final percent of the job remains to be done,” Mohsen Kavoosi, the executive deputy at Power Control Company told Trend November 7.

Power Control Co. is the investor in this project and hopes to bring it on stream in two years after the LC is opened, Kavoosi said.

He said the line of credit is worth near $300 million.

The operational phase of the construction of the 400-megawatt combined cycle power plant in Zanjan started in August 2016.

The plant includes a 310-megawatt gas unit and a 180-megawatt steam unit.

Mansour Payam, the CEO of Power Control Co. earlier said the contract was signed with PowerChina in 2008, but a general economic downturn prolonged the completion of the project.
