Weekly performance of Iranian gold & currency markets

The price of one gram of the 18-karat gold decreased by 0.18 percent over the last Iranian week to stand at 1,297,230 rials (about $31.4) on the weekend.

In the meantime, the price of Bahar-e Azadi (Spring of Liberty) gold coin added 2.25 percent.

The data available on the website of the Tehran Gold and Jewelry Union shows that Bahar-e Azadi valued 13,660,000 rials ($327.1) at the end of the Iranian week.

Meanwhile, the value of the US dollar against Iranian rial in the free market increased by 1.43 percent to post 41,754 rials on Thursday. The Central Bank of Iran (CBI) put the official rate of the US dollar at 35,374 rials on Thursday, an increase of 0.31 percent compared to the preceding week.

According to the country’s real-time data sharing system, SANA, euro gained 1.94 percent to rest at 50,141 rials on the weekend. The official rate of euro declined 0.23 percent to stand at 41,838 rials.
