Iran Central Bank reports on equity market’s 7-month performance

Main index of the Tehran Stock Exchange (TSE) surged by 10.7 percent over the first seven months of the current Iranian calendar year (started March 20) compared to the same period of last year.

According to the latest statistics released by the Central Bank of Iran, main index reached 86480 points in the seven-month period ending on October 22.

In the meantime, compared to the preceding month the main index added 0.8 percent.

TSE financial index declined 16.3 percent to rest at 128475 in the mentioned period.

TSE industrial index hiked 15.8 percent to stand at 75559, top 50 performers index increased by 12.5 percent posting 3469, first market index rose by 10.1 percent reaching 60215, and second market index increased by 11.7 percent resting at 1950581.

Number of the traded shares slumped 15.8 percent as 120 billion shares changed hands in the mentioned period.

Market capitalization saw a 6.7 percent increase reaching $101.3 billion.
