Iran’s NIDC unveils drilling performance details

The National Iranian Drilling Company (NIDC) drilled over 196.04 kilometers of oil and gas wells using its drilling equipment during the first nine months of Iran’s current fiscal year (March 20-Dec. 22), Naser Qolipour, the corporate planning director of the NIDC, said.

During the period, the NIDC carried out 33,195 meters of directional and horizontal drilling operations at Iran’s oil and gas fields, the official said, the press office of the NIDC said.

The company carried out drilling of 119 offshore and onshore oil and gas wells during the 9-month period, Qolipour said.

The wells included 51 delineation wells two exploratory and 66 repairing ones, he added.

The NIDC drilled over 17,600 meters of oil and gas wells in the 9th Iranian calendar month (Nov. 22-Dec. 22).

The National Iranian South Oil Fields Company (NISOC) shared 86 of the drilled wells, followed by Iranian Petroleum Engineering and Development Company (24 wells), Iranian Offshore Oil Company (seven wells) and Exploration Directorate of National Iranian Oil Company (two wells), he said.

The NIDC owns 74 light, heavy and ultra-heavy drilling rigs, including 71 onshore and three offshore rigs, the official added.

The company carried out drilling of 193 offshore and onshore oil and gas wells (293 kilometers) during the last Iranian fiscal year (ended March 20, 2017).
