Transport of minerals, construction materials via Iran's ports drops

The Islamic Republic of Iran exported 297,262 tons of metal products through its ports across the country over the last Iranian calendar month ending Dec. 21.

The country loaded and unloaded 516,305 tons of metal products at its ports in the one-month period, indicating a 42.9 percent fall year-on-year, according to the latest report released by Iran’s Ports and Maritime Organization.

In the meantime, the country imported 219,088 tons of metal products through the organization’s ports.

The organization loaded and unloaded 822,946 tons of minerals and construction materials in the one-month period, which is 69.6 percent less than the volume in the same month of the preceding year.

About 657,801 tons of minerals and construction materials were exported through the country’s ports.

The report also says that 39,976 tons of machinery, vehicles and spare parts were loaded and unloaded at Iranian ports, 5.7 percent more year-on-year.

Iran’s machinery, vehicles and spare parts imports via the ports accounted to 30,494 tons in one-month period.

Iranian ports saw loading and unloading of a total of 5.994 million tons of various goods and commodities, including food and metal products between Nov. 21 to Dec. 21, 51.4 percent less year-on-year.

In total, over 114 million tons of various goods were loaded/unloaded at Iranian ports during the current fiscal year.

The volume is 0.9 percent less than the loaded/unloaded products in the same period of preceding year (started March 20, 2016).
