Iran plans to manufacture vehicles in Belarus

Iranian Minister of Industries, Mining and Trade Mohammad Shariatmadari said that his country plans to manufacture an Iran Khodro car brand in Belarus.

Speaking about plans to expand cooperation between the two countries in industrial sector, he said that Iran plans to produce Samand cars in Belarus, ISNA news agency reported.

Iran seeks to further export the manufactured cars to the Eurasian countries.

The minister further added that a credit line of 50 million euros will be issued for backing Iranian traders in the eastern European country.

In the meantime, the two countries have inked a document on cooperation for establishing an independent pharmaceutical company in Belarus.

The current trade turnover between the two countries is less than $160 million.

During his recent visit to Iran to attend a meeting of the joint economic commission of the two countries, Belarusian Minister of Industry Vitali Mikhailovich Vovk called for increasing the volume of bilateral trade to $500 million.
