Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh has estimated that the supplies of petrochemical products through the country’s capital market will increase by 17 percent over the current fiscal year (starting March 20).
Namdar Zanganeh has said that Oil Ministry offered five million tons of petrochemical products through the capital market over the last fiscal year, state-run IRINN TV reported.
Speaking about those petrochemical units that were inaugurated last April, he said that the value of the output of these units reached $2 billion over the current year.
Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani inaugurated the South Pars Phases 17 and 18, Phase 19, as well as Phases 21 and 22 in April 2017.
He further added that the daily output of gasoline over the current year surged by 16.5 million liters compared to the last year, indicating a rise of 28 percent.
According to the minister Persian Gulf Star refinery had a key role in the surge in gasoline output.
Iran's Customs Administration data indicate that the country’s petrochemical exports reached 22.45 million tons over the first ten months of the current fiscal year.
In the meantime, the value of Iran’s petrochemical exports accounted to $10.67 billion, showing a 9 percent fall on a yearly basis.
