Cargo load/unloading at Iranian ports witnesses huge fall

The volume of cargo loaded/unloaded in Iranian ports during the first half of the current calendar month (started March 20, 2018) registered a huge fall year-on-year.

Iran’s Ports and Maritime Organization says that about 2 million tons of various type of cargo have been loaded/unloaded in the country's ports during the 15-day period (March 20-April 4).

The report indicates that the total volume of loading/unloading in Iranian ports has decreased by 60 percent, year on year.

Oil products rank first among the cargo types. Some 600,000 tons of oil products were loaded/unloaded in Iranian ports, which is 62.5 percent less compared to the same period of the preceding year.

The report, published by Iran’s Ports and Maritime Organization, covers transportation activities in Iranian ports of Abadan, Astara, Imam Khomeini, Amirabad, Anzali, Boushehr, Jask, Chabahar, Khorramshahr, Shahid Bahonar, Shahid Rajaei, Fereydunkenar, Qeshm, Ganaveh, Lengeh, Neka and Nowshahr.
