After closing the last fiscal year with a negative trade balance, Iran’s trade balance became positive in the current fiscal year.
The figure was $604 million in the first calendar month (March 20-April 20), Iran's Customs Administration said.
Iran’s non-oil exports, including condensates have witnessed an increase by over 15 percent during the current fiscal year, started March 20, 2018.
The customs administration said that the country’s non-oil exports, including gas condensate, reached $3.133 billion during the first month of the current fiscal year, 15.9 percent more year-on-year.
The volume of the exported goods reached 7.99 million tons in the 1-month period.
The country includes gas condensate and some raw hydrocarbon products, like propane, butane, etc. in its non-oil export basket.
During the period, the country exported $448 million worth of condensate, followed by liquefied propane (worth $163 million), film grade polyethylene ($137 million), ethylene glycol ($105 million) and liquid butane ($94 million).
The share of other commodities amounted to $1.646 billion, 39.4 percent more year-on-year.
China was the main importer of the Iranian goods during the period. Iran’s non-oil exports to China registered a rise by 18.3 percent and stood at $728 million.
The United Arab Emirates ($549 million, increase of 31.5 percent), Iraq ($402 million, 3.5 percent increase), India ($220 million, fall of 11.4 percent), South Korea ($202 million, rise of 10.7 percent) were other top importers of Iranian non-oil goods during the last Iranian fiscal year.
