Oil products loading/unloading at Iranian ports increases by 65%

Iran’s Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO) has loaded and unloaded more than 4.075 million tons of oil products at its ports across the country over the first month of the Iranian fiscal year (started March 20).

The figure stood at 2.465 million tons over the preceding calendar month (Feb. 20-March 20).

The oil product loading/unloading in Iranian ports has increased by 25.9 percent in the last Iranian calendar month, year-on-year, according to the latest data available on the PMO website.

The figure also registered a significant increase by 65 percent, on a monthly basis.

According to the report, 10 ports out of POM’s 20 ports, including Imam Khomeini, Amirabad, Anzali, Bushehr, Chabahar, Shahid Bahonar, Shahid Rajaee, Fereydounkenar, Qeshm and Lengeh were involved in oil product loading/unloading during the period.

The data indicates that 1.734 million tons of oil products were unloaded at Iranian ports, 16.4 percent more year-on-year.

Meanwhile, 2.341 million tons of oil products were loaded in the ports, which was 34 percent more compared to the one-month period of the preceding year.

In general, over 46.7 million tons of oil products were loaded and unloaded at Iranian ports during the last fiscal year (ended March 20), indicating a 1.3-percent increase year-on-year.

Iranian ports saw loading and unloading of a total of 12.566 million tons of various goods and commodities, including food and metal products between March 20 to April 20, 15.2 percent more year-on-year.

In total, over 153 million tons of various goods have been loaded/unloaded at Iranian ports during the last fiscal year.

The volume is 5.5 percent more than the loaded/unloaded products in the preceding year.
