Iran’s joining Combating the Financing of Terrorism (CFT) Convention is for the benefit of the country’s economy, and the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) is an opportunity to equate conditions in Iran with those in other countries, Member of the Tehran Chamber of Commerce Jamshid Adalatian said in an interview with ILNA.
He was commenting on Iran’s joining the CFT Convention, which is one of the FATF’s projects.
He said that joining FATF will facilitate Iran’s relations with European countries, accelerate and make transparent the investment, remittance and banking relations.
“If we want to become active at the global level, we have to work together with international organizations and agencies,” he said.
He added that with the abolition of trade obstacles, one shouldn’t think that it will be possible to raise investments in a short time, because joining FATF only eliminates the barriers.
There are other obstacles for raising foreign investments, and they should be eliminated, he said.
