Iranian minister: 2 satellites ready for being launched into space

The satellites of Amirkabir and Sharif Universities of Technology are ready to be launched, Iran’s Minister of Information and Communications Technology Mohammad-Javad Azari Jahromi said when getting acquainted with the Ibn-Sina super-computer, satellite center and technology tower projects of the Amirkabir University of Technology, IRNA news agency reported.
“I hope that after the launch of these satellites into space, the citizens will be able to benefit from their advantages,” he added.
He noted that the Amirkabir satellite is considered as one of achievements of the university. The satellite will be launched into space after being handed over, he added.
“Of course, another satellite is being developed currently for use in the area of identification of the agricultural tasks. By means of this satellite, we will obtain the images which will allow for better use of agricultural infrastructures and agricultural sector as a whole,” the minister said.
Azari Jahromi mentioned that the operation life of this satellite is two years: the acquisition of clear and bright images require much expense. After positioning of this satellite in the space, it will be possible to benefit from the images generated by the satellite.
