500 companies account for 82% of Iran’s exports

Around 500 companies account for 82 percent of Iran’s exports, Mojtaba Khosrotaj, head of Iran’s Trade Promotion Organization, said.

Fars news agency quoted him as saying that all companies in Iran have exported around $46 billion worth products.

Khosrotaj pointed out that 1.3 percent of products were exported in the sphere of modern technologies, 23.4 percent in resource base sphere and 41 percent in primary products sphere.

“Around 84 percent of the exporters have local brands, while 20 percent of them have foreign brands. Moreover, 71 percent of them have products meeting international standards, 63 percent have quality standards and 61 percent have sales distributor abroad,” he said.

Khosrotaj noted that the Trade Promotion Organization should use the existing potential, opportunities and budget for developing the trade.
