Iran's Zanjan Province has mainly nonmetal mines, and presently the total number of mines reach 371, of which 309 are operating and 62 are non-operational, Shata reported citing the Deputy Chairman of Zanjan Province Industry, Mines and Trade Organization Rubab Dadashi.
According to him, there 131 mines in Zanjan County, 60 in Abhar County, 44 in Khodabandeh County, 15 in Khorramdarreh County, 68 in Mahneshan County, 14 in Tarom County, 25 in Ijrud County and 14 mines in Soltaniyeh County.
"During the current year (a year starts on March 21 in Iran) so far over 9.27 million tons of raw materials have been extracted," Dadashi said.
