Presently, no Chinese bank works with Iranian businessmen, Tasnim cited Asadulla Asgar-Ovladi, Iranian co-chair of the Iran-China Joint Chamber of Commerce, as saying.

Iranian exporters have stopped bank transactions with China, so no product is exported to China, he added.

He said that currently the Central Bank of Iran is consulting with the Chinese side to continue to cooperate in the banking sector.

These consultations have not yet come to an end, Asgar-Ovladi added.

Asgar-Ovladi said that as an exporter, he is against the foreign currency commitment, "because this is totally wrong".

Iranian exporters have to sign a foreign currency commitment to export their products. According to this commitment, foreign currency should be sold to the Central Bank of Iran after exporting the products.
