More than 80 percent of the production, employment and economy of Iran’s East Azerbaijan province accounts for the private sector, Mohammad Reza Pourmohammadi, governor of the province, said, IRNA reported.

In order to achieve progress in implementing the region’s development goals, the private sector should be supported and the obstacles facing these goals should be eliminated, he said, Trend reports.

He added that all the work should be done for the development of the province.

Problems can be solved if proper steps are taken, given existing sanctions, he said, noting that the East Azerbaijan Province has good practice in these areas.

Iran’s East Azerbaijan Province accounts for more than 4 percent of local raw material production.

Also, the province has a population of more than 3.8 million. East Azerbaijan is considered one of the important economic and industrial provinces of Iran and has 5 customs offices.
