Four mines have been found in Ardabil province of Iran, and exploration operations are being carried out at three mines with private sector investments, Hamid Amili, chairman of the Ardabil Province Industry, Mine and Trade Organization, said in an interview with IRNA, Trend reports.

He said that 20 mines have been found in the country.

He added that the Iranian Mines & Mining Industries Development & Renovation (IMIDRO) is operating at the Qizil Uzan mine in Iran’s Khalkhal city, Kosar Investments LLC is operating at the Bagri mine and Mitko Group is operating at Savalan Garasu mine in Meshgin Shahr city.

Excavations at an area of 20,000 square meters showed that there are big reserves of copper and molybdenum and the results of this exploration work will be determined next Iranian year (starts March 21, 2019), he noted.

When the exploration results are defined, extraction operations in the mining industry will be launched in Meshgin Shahr city for the first time, he said.

Mines are one of the key areas of creating sustainable employment in the province, he noted.

In addition to employment, the province’s industrial development will be boosted, given affordable investments, he said.

“The commissioning of the mines will bring income and will lead to employment of thousands of people in Ardabil province,” he added.
