Three production facilities will be opened with the participation of foreign investors in the Khoy County of Iran’s north-western West Azerbaijan Province, Adel Hasanlu, head of the Industrial Parks in the West Azerbaijan region of Iran, told IRNA, Trend reports.

According to Hasanlu, investors from China, Azerbaijan and Turkey are involved in opening production facilities for gold, silica processing and furniture sectors.

Hasanlu pointed out that more than $5 million worth of investments have been made by the aforementioned investors for these businesses.

Hasanlu said that more than 60 percent of physical progress has been made at the facilities and they will soon be commissioned.

"Opportunities have been created in the region for foreign investors by developing the infrastructure of the Khoy Industrial Park, the Ivughli Industrial Zone and non-metal mines," he said.

Saying that the share of the Khoy County in industrial investments for West Azerbaijan Province stands at 12.5 percent, Hasanlu added that more than 100 people will be provided with direct jobs, with the commissioning of the new businesses.

"The attractiveness of foreign investment is essential for the development of production in industrial parks," he said, further stating that the Khoy County has so far issued 30 licenses for the establishment of industrial enterprises in the non-metal mine park of the county.

There are 115 manufacturing facilities in the industrial parks of the West Azerbaijan Province of Iran, employing more than 2,000 people.
