Trend:

Development of industrial parks at Iran's border regions is among the targets and priorities of Iran Small Industries and Industrial Parks Organization.

"The borders with neighboring countries are an opportunity for development and they should be used to improve the country's infrastructure," said the CEO of the organization Mohsen Salehnia, Trend reports citing IRNA.

Referring to the capacity of industrial parks at border regions especially in East Azerbaijan, he said that special facilities will be provided to investors in the regions in assigning land for building industrial parks.

Iran previously held talks with Iraq on establishment of three industrial parks at the Iran-Iraq border points. This would increase Iran's energy exports and help develop Iraq.

Meanwhile, Deputy Minister of Industries, Mine and Trade of Iran Ali Abdeli noted that location has been identified to be assigned to foreign investors for industrial park in Khoy County.

He indicated that 2 industrial parks are currently active in Khoy County.

"Two investors are ready to invest in this county, the domestic investor works in Silicones and Selenium production sector and there is a Turkish investor that seeks to launch the biggest textile factory in the Middle East at Khoy Industrial park in West Azerbaijan Province," said the official.
